You can schedule a visit to browse, use the computer, or shop our Basement Book Sale any day we’re open. And of course, curbside is always an option too. Please note we only have two computers open to the public at this time. We will do our best to accommodate walk-ins but appointments are suggested as there is a limit to the number of folks we can have in the building. Appointments are for 15 or 30 minute time slots.

  • Monday and Friday 2 pm to 5 pm
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10 am to 6:30 pm.
  • Saturday 10 am to 2 pm.

A family is one appointment and two families will not be scheduled at the same time.  Your safety and the safety of our staff is our highest priority.  Visitors will be required to verbally acknowledge our screening document. I returned my books/DVDs. Why are they still showing up on my account?

We quarantine all items for up to 96 hours before handling and processing them. Therefore, while you may have returned your books/DVDs, our staff is not able to check them in for a week. Don’t worry, there are no fines and fees charged if this is the case.

Is the library building open?

Yes! While appointments are suggested, walk-ins are welcome to come in and use a computer or browse items.  Call or email us for details or to schedule your appointment. You must follow a screening process and wear a mask. We ask that you use hand sanitizer if browsing the collection.

Are library materials safe?

NPL is following safety guidelines set forth by the American Library Association and the REALM Project. Items are quarantined for at least 96 hours and our staff wears gloves and masks when handling library materials.

Can I return items when I pickup my order?

Sure. In fact, we’d love for you to return items in a timely fashion so others can enjoy them. (Especially since they must be quarantined before they are available again.) However, items can only be returned at the book drop in the door. Please do not hand items to staff.

Can I order books from other libraries?

Yes! The Finger Lakes Library System is providing inter-library loan deliveries among its member-libraries. Many thanks to all the folks who made this possible, especially Tom our delivery driver!
