The library invites the entire community to join us for “Oceans of Possibilities” this Summer!

The free, 8-week program includes fun activities and prizes for all ages. Each week there is something for everyone, like Family Storytime, Adventure Club, movie & game nights, book clubs, discussion groups, take-home kits, and more!

Thursday, June 30 at 6:00 pm is the Kickoff! Join us for a special Theatre Night at Newfield High School at 6:00 pm! Register for the Summer Reading Program then enjoy a free picnic meal provided by the Newfield Lions! Head into the auditorium for an exciting performance by Walking on Water Productions (WoW) of Ithaca at 6:30pm.  WoW will present a 30-minute excerpt from their summer show “Now. Here. This.” Afterwards, WoW performers will lead a fun activity then answer questions from the audience. As the evening winds down at 7:30pm, the performers will be available to chat! One lucky name will be drawn to win two tickets to an upcoming WoW production!

This event is free to all and made possible in part with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership

Other special events include “Stories from the People of the Longhouse” by Turtle Clan member Perry Ground, “Save the Ocean” by Tanglewood Nature Center, a visit from the Bubbleman, and more!

The schedule of events can be found here. Register here or at the library.

Once you receive your registration packet you will learn that the program includes logging the number of minutes that you read. We provide a manual reading log but you can also use our app if you prefer. Register here (or log in if you have used it before) or download the ReadSquared app: ReadSquared website.
